The last few years have seen extraordinary growth in awareness of and interest in Australia on the global stage. Canadian travellers routinely vote Australia as top on their list of desired travel destinations and each year more and more Canadians travel to Australia and experience it’s unique nature and wildlife, cosmopolitan cities, coastal lifestyle and food and wine.
With interest in Australia at an all time high and following on from the success of events such as G’Day LA and G’Day NY in the US and last year’s inaugural G’Day Toronto: Australia Week Celebrations, Vancouver will host the largest celebration of Australian culture in Canada in April 2008- G’Day Vancouver: Australia Week 2008.
Taking place from the 3rd-6th April 2008 across downtown Vancouver, and showcasing Australian food, wine, culture, art, film, lifestyle, our unique wildlife and natural environment, G’Day Vancouver will allow Canadians to sample some of the many amazing experiences Australia has to offer.
Australia week will launch a three-month long exhibition of Australia’s unique wildlife and their natural environments at Vancouver’s iconic Science World:
Planet Oz – Walk on Australia’s Wild Side and the Australia.com/ OzFlix Australian Film Weekend at Pacific Cinémathèque.
Other events on the calendar include a two-day Aussie Travel Expo where you can find out everything you need to know when planning your next vacation to Australia, the Penfold MacQuarie Wild Tasmania Gala Dinner and of course the Surf’s Up! Aussie Foam Party at Celebrities Nightclub on Davie Street.
